Every community has members who are outstanding personalities. Our Samaj is no exception. We have many individuals who have done something that makes us proud whether it is social, professional or educational. Here is a person who makes us all proud of his achievements is a role model for our younger generation to follow.

Dr. Chandra Kant Panchal. He was born in Kampala in 1949. He is the son of Late Sh.Jagjivanbhai and Smt. Dhanuben Panchal. He did graduation from the University of East Africa in 1968. A year later, he came to Canada to finish his studies. In 1979, he completed his Ph.D. in Applied Microbiology from the University of Western Ontario.

In 1989, Sh. Chandra Kant started his own company with two partners, Vetrogen, which grew from a staff of 3 to 40 in 9 years. At which point, it became publicly traded, and the name changed to Procyon Biopharma. After a merge, the company name changed to Ambrilia Biopharma Inc, of which, Chandra Kant became the Executive Vice-President, Business Development, Licensing & Intellectual Property. The company’s focus is research and development of drugs for various types of cancer and HIV.

He has been on the editorial board of the Canadian Journal of Microbiology and is a co-inventor in respect of three United States and two Canadian patents. In 1991 the London (Ontario) High Technology Association named Chandrakant ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’. Chandrakant is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Ontario

All members of the Samaj wish Dr. Chandra Kant every bit of success in his wonderful career. The vibrant society of the Jangid Samaj has many individuals, young and old. They have achieved their goals, and are the champions of their own field. Our intention is to bring forward their talent and achievement to the public attention as times permit us to do so.
